Frequently Asked Questions

What is periodontal disease and how can I prevent it?

Periodontal disease is an infection of the teeth, gums and the bones surrounding the teeth, and it’s the leading cause of adult tooth loss. It is caused by the accumulation of plaque, the sticky film of food and bacteria that forms constantly on your teeth. Diagnosis of periodontal disease begins with a thorough examination. If we find periodontal disease, we’ll talk with you about treatment options and proper home care to minimize bone loss and restore the health of your gums.

I get anxious about going to the dentist. What can I do?

We can offer you some choices to make you feel more comfortable during your appointment. Nitrous oxide, sometimes known as “laughing gas” is a safe and effective option, providing a calming effect that allows you to be more relaxed during your dental procedure. And you can still drive home when you’re done! Another option is oral conscious sedation. It’s a relaxing choice for patients who get anxious for any reason, such as sensitive teeth, a severe gag response or difficulty getting numb with local anesthesia.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept most major dental insurance plans. Please contact our office at 972-831-9600 to confirm whether we are able to accept your insurance.

My teeth need straightening. Is there an alternative to metal braces?

Ask us about Clear Correct, an advanced dental treatment that allows us to straighten teeth without braces. Instead, it involves a series of precisely calibrated, clear aligners that gradually reposition teeth. The aligners are easily removable for easy brushing and flossing. They are smooth and comfortable so they are less likely to irritate your mouth.
